Description
Boekenhoutskloof's Porcupine Ridge Chardonnay comes from the Western Cape region. The name of the wine is inspired by the porcupine, one of the most characteristic inhabitants of the farm, a symbol of the efforts to conserve local biodiversity.
The grapes are harvested at different levels of ripeness to balance freshness, fruity character and structure. The fermentation takes place cold in stainless steel with selected yeasts, followed by a three-month refinement in old French oak barrels.
It has a straw yellow color. The nose of this Chardonnay is intense and vibrant, with a profusion of aromas of lemon, lime, grapefruit, cream and pineapple. On the palate it is balanced, fresh with citrus hints and a pleasant spicy nuance. The finish is long and persistent, with hints of green apple and verbena.
This Chardonnay pairs perfectly with vegetable tempura, appetizers and flans.
