Description

Pinotage Shiraz is a wine from the Savanha company, located in the renowned South African wine area of Stellenbosch. The wine is produced with Pinotage grapes, a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsaut which perfectly acclimates to the soil and microclimate of the Western Cape and in general of the entire Stellenbosch region, and from Shiraz grapes harvested once the ideal degree of ripeness has been reached.

The must obtained from soft pressing macerates on the skins at a temperature of 10-12 °C and ferments in stainless steel tanks. Ageing takes place in steel for 6 months.

It shows a ruby red colour. The olfactory texture focuses on aromas of berries and banana, which are joined by light spicy notes of black pepper. In the mouth it is juicy and full-bodied, in which the berries are still the master, with hints of chocolate at the end.

Perfect to combine with rack of lamb, it is ideal in the company of all red meat cooked on the grill.
