Description

With this wine, Charles Smith fought to bring Merlot back to the fore, a vine towards which negative feelings were nurtured following the success of the film Sideways - traveling with Jack. His is a bold Merlot that wants to restore appeal to this variety, believing in its potential.

It is mainly produced with Merlot grapes, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec to complete the blend. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, it ages for 10 months in new oak barrels for almost a third.

Wine with a dark ruby red hue, opens on notes of black plum and cherry, enriched by a touch of cocoa. On the palate it is pure velvet, as the name suggests, of great concentration and drinkability. It is so good that it looks like it was made by the devil himself.

Perfect to accompany a grilled meat, it is excellent in combination with bacon and burgers.
