Description
Reine Pédauque's Volnay is a red wine produced exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes, originating from the village of the same name located between Meursault and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune. Traditional winemaking involves cold pre-fermentative maceration and thermoregulated stainless steel fermentation, followed by aging in oak barriques for 8-16 months, with a percentage of 20-30% new wood.
The clay and limestone soil, enriched with rock debris that improves drainage, contributes to the finesse and structure of the wine. Visually it presents an intense ruby red color.
On the nose it offers aromas of ripe cherries, violets and sweet spices, while on the palate it stands out for its silkiness and freshness, with soft tannins that structure the sip, closing on a finish of good length.
It pairs ideally with refined poultry or game dishes, roasted, braised or lacquered, as well as with couscous or tagine and medium-aged cheeses such as Camembert, Saint Paulin, Morbier, Reblochon.
