Description
Louis Jadot's Volnay Clos de la Barre Monopole is an exclusive Premier Cru, located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Bordered by Pommard to the north-east, Monthélie to the west and Meursault to the south, this area is famous for its delicate red wines, produced from extremely calcareous and calcium-rich soil.
The grapes, small and dark red in color, are destemmed and macerated in open tanks for 4 weeks, a technique that allows the terroir to fully express itself. Subsequently the wine matures in oak barriques for 18 months.
Ruby red in color, it stands out on the nose for its elegance, offering delicate aromas of red fruits, floral notes and a hint of spices. In the mouth the wine expresses notable finesse with a velvety texture, supported by soft tannins and lively acidity. Cherry and raspberry aromas mingle with subtle touches of vanilla and earth, leading to a long, harmonious finish.
It pairs beautifully with delicate meat dishes and medium-aged cheeses.
