Description
Maison Louis Jadot's Volnay from the Côte de Beaune is a red wine of great elegance, coming from a prestigious terroir located between Pommard and Meursault. This wine, classified as Appellation Village, is produced exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes, as the Volnay region is known for being dedicated exclusively to the production of red wines. This area has a subsoil rich in calcareous marl and clay.
The vinification is rigorous and careful, with a manual harvest in small crates, preserving the quality of the fruit. The bunches, after careful selection and destemming, are left to macerate in open vats, wood or steel, for a period of three or four weeks. During fermentation, daily pumping over is carried out. The wine then ages for about 18 months in oak barrels, to add complexity and structure.
In the glass it has a ruby red color with bright reflections, emanating aromas of fresh red fruits, floral hints and delicate spicy notes. On the palate it is silky and fine, with soft tannins that give elegance and a long and harmonious persistence. Its mineral and delicate profile makes it a versatile and refined wine.
Ideal with beef carpaccio, pizza, grilled meat, vegetable or meat lasagna, ratatouille and mature cheeses.
