Description
This Volnay from the domaine Comte Armand is a combination of 2 lots from 2 distinct liuex-dits: Les Grands Champs and Les Famines. The first climate is known for producing wines of exquisite finesse and elegance, while the second is characterized by more structured and full-bodied wines. The separate vinification of these climats allows their singularity to be expressed before combining the cuvées once the perfect level of ripeness has been reached.
It is the result of a meticulous selection of Pinot Noir grapes, harvested manually in order to guarantee the integrity of the bunches, vinified whole. After an initial maceration at low temperature, fermentation takes place spontaneously for 5-10 days, then follows a second maceration phase of 3-15 days depending on the vintage. Subsequently the wine matures for 18 months in partially new oak barrels.
Bright ruby red in color, the nose opens up with intense floral notes of rose and violet, joined by fruity nuances of currants and raspberries. On the palate it expresses a fresh and savory taste, with soft tannins.
Excellent to accompany noble poultry and all game-based dishes.
