Description
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano SorAldo is produced by the De 'Ricci winery and takes its name from a historic family of Montepulciano of medieval origins. The historic and charming winery is located in the Ricci palace in the center of Montepulciano and is now owned by the Trabalzini family. The wine is born on vineyards located in the hills (450 meters above sea level) on the west and south sides of Montepulciano.
The wine is produced 100% from Sangiovese grapes (Prugnolo gentile, as it is called in the area), which are partially pressed, and then vinified in steel vats at a controlled temperature with a maceration on the skins that lasts a maximum of 30 days. Ageing of the wine takes place in tonneaux and large barrels of 20-25 hl for approx. 24 months, and then continue for at least 12 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in colour, on the nose there are aromas of violets, cherries, with light spicy notes. The sip is structured, savoury and with well-structured tannins.
Ideal in combination with rich land appetizers and stewed and roasted beef and wild boar meats.
