Description
In the heart of the Savoy Alps, the Vin des Allobroges Schiste from Domaine des Ardoisières embodies the essence of an extraordinarily rich terroir. Produced from a blend of Jacquère, Roussanne, Malvoisie and Mondeuse Blanc, these vineyards are grown on terraces facing south/south-east, on soils dominated by clay-enriched shale.
Fermentation is spontaneous in steel containers, followed by 12 months aging in barrique. This process allows the wine to develop complexity and character while maintaining its original qualities fresh and vibrant.
It appears in the glass with an intense golden yellow hue. On the nose, intriguing aromas of dried fruit and hydrocarbons emerge, reminiscent of great aged Rieslings. On the palate, acidity as sharp as a shale blade is masterfully balanced by a rich, pulpy texture. The result is a broad, crystalline and vibrant wine, with a savory finesse that reflects the minerality of its terroir.
Particularly suitable with shellfish and blue cheeses, it is suitable for pairing with grilled fish and risottos.
