Description

The Vin de Table Français Historical XIXth Century Wine Château Palmer recalls the forgotten tradition of "enriching" Bordeaux wines with small quantities of Syrah from the Rhone Valley, a common practice in the 19th century to improve their color, structure and intensity. This experiment, started in 2006 by Château Palmer, led to the creation of a wine that blends the refinement of Bordeaux with the robustness of Syrah, producing approximately 5,000 bottles per edition. Although it cannot bear the Bordeaux label due to the inclusion of Syrah, this wine offers a living connection with winemaking history, offering a free and original interpretation of the vintage.

l Vin de Table Français Historical XIXth Century Wine Château Palmer enchants with a bouquet of pepper and violets, wrapped in the finesse of Margaux Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, it stands out for its complex structure, with notes of dark fruits enriched by touches of chocolate and spices, reflecting a balanced fusion between the elegance of Bordeaux and the robustness of Syrah. The long and persistent finish reveals a surprising freshness, with a return of floral and spicy notes that invite another sip

With its complex fusion of Bordeaux and Syrah, it pairs beautifully with rich, structured dishes. Roasted or braised red meats, game such as venison or duck, and intense mushroom dishes would be ideal choices. Mature or blue cheeses can also complement its aromatic depth and complexity.
