Description

L'Orphée by Domaine les Poete is a refined Sauvignon Blanc, coming from the Reuilly plots, in particular from the Chery area. The young vineyards extend over clay-limestone soils, enriched with pebbles and red sand, which give the wine an earthy richness and a distinct minerality.

The winemaking process begins with spontaneous fermentation. It then matures for three years, partly in tanks and mostly in used barrels, allowing for slow refinement which intensifies its complexity without overpowering the freshness of the fruit.

This wine has an intense straw yellow color. On the nose, aromas of white flowers, lime, aromatic herbs and yeasts emerge, creating a rich and inviting bouquet. In the mouth, it offers a silky texture, with strong acidity, salty and lively notes, and a dry finish. The structure is mature, full, clear and precise, with excellent volume.

Ideal in combination with refined dishes such as salmon with gin and citrus fruits, oysters with lobster bisque and burrata. These combinations underline the complexity of the wine and its ability to accompany intense and sophisticated flavours.
