Description
Simone de Malescasse is a red wine from Bordeaux, produced by Château Malescasse, made from a blend of Merlot and Petit Verdot, grown on gravel terraces of Pyrenean origin. The vineyard, managed with techniques attentive to biodiversity and soil quality, benefits from sustainable practices aimed at enhancing the expression of the terroir. This wine is created with the intent of offering an immediate, fresh, and convivial tasting experience.
The winemaking process involves a precise selection of grapes through density measurement to ensure optimal ripeness. After harvesting, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks without destemming, using selected yeasts for the vintage. Maceration lasts between three and four weeks with gentle extraction by pigeage and brief pump-overs. Pressing is done with a vertical pneumatic press to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Visually, it presents a bright ruby color with violet reflections. On the nose, it releases intense aromas of juicy red and black fruits, including cherry, blackcurrant, and raspberry, enriched by a slight note of white pepper. On the palate, the structure is round, delicate, and velvety, with the fruit following through to a silky and inviting finish.
It pairs perfectly with informal summer appetizers, charcuterie and cheese boards, or barbecues of marinated meats with delicate spices.
