Description

Terre is a classic Bordeaux blend that combines freshness and balance, best expressing the terroir of San Leonardo. It is crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carménère, sourced from vineyards situated within the ancient walls of a monastery. The soils are light and sandy for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère, while the Merlot thrives on clayey soils with excellent drainage. The vines, aged between 3 and 25 years, are located at an altitude of 120 to 300 meters above sea level, with a South-West and North-West exposure.

Fermentation occurs spontaneously in small concrete vats, with a maceration period of 12-15 days and frequent pump-overs. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in the same vats, where it remains in decantation for several months. The aging process lasts for 12 months, divided between 50% in concrete and 50% in second and third passage French oak barriques and tonneaux, all with medium toast. After the final blending, the wine is bottled and rests for at least 6 months in the cellar before commercialization.

Of intense and vivid ruby color, on the nose it stands out for its clarity and freshness, with fruity notes of raspberry and dark cherry, accompanied by slightly spicy and balsamic hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is agile and harmonious, with an extremely pleasant and inviting drinkability.

It pairs perfectly with flavorful first courses and roasted white meats.
