Vernaccia di Oristano Riserva DOC 2004 Silvio Carta

Vernaccia di Oristano Riserva by Silvio Carta is one of the most famous and appreciated Vernaccia wines. Born in the early 1950s, the winery is based in Zeddiani, near Oristano.

After fermentation, the wine passes into full chestnut barrels, to favor oxygenation and the formation of the "flor", a layer of yeast that protects the wine and enhances its refinement.

Antique gold in color, the nose reveals a broad and multifaceted bouquet of aromas of chestnut honey and amaretto, butter, coffee and quince, marine scrub and glazed notes. The sip is also articulate, moderately sweet, fresh and with a finish reminiscent of bitter almond.

Excellent to combine with desserts, especially with dry pastries, but also to try with oysters and croutons with bottarga cream.
