Description
Historical name of Verduno, Burlotto has a splendid estate in the northernmost area of the Barolo appellation. The vineyards cover a total of 16 hectares, with parcels also located in the municipalities of Barolo, Monforte d'Alba and Roddi. In the Verduno property, the real heart of the company, in addition to the Nebbiolo vineyards there are some plots of Pelaverga, an ancient local red grape variety, which is vinified in purity.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and French oak vats, with delicate pumping over and punching down. Before bottling, the wine rests for about 6 months in steel tanks, in order to preserve the fragrance of the varietal aromas intact.
Bright ruby red in color, it seduces with delicately floral aromas, hints of dried rose petals, hints of oriental spices and wild berries. The sip is smooth, pleasantly fruity, with subtle tannins, a fresh and spicy finish.
To be combined with pasta dishes with sauce and poultry on the spit.
