Description
The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico Superiore Vecchie Vigne Historical by Umani Ronchi is a white wine produced in the Marche region. The grapes come from the historic vineyards of Montecarotto, located at an altitude of 310 meters above sea level. The vineyards, more than fifty years old, are cultivated on deep, clayey and fresh soils.
Winemaking involves soft pressing of the grapes, followed by rapid cooling of the free-run must and static decantation. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 16-18°C for 15-20 days, without malolactic fermentation. The wine ages for 18 months in concrete tanks in continuous contact with the yeasts, followed by decanting into small steel tanks for approximately 36 months before bottling, which takes place at least 6 months before marketing.
The wine has a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, it offers aromas of white fruit and fresh flowers, with mineral notes. On the palate, it is fresh and structured, with good acidity and a long and persistent finish.
It pairs perfectly with fish dishes, white meats and fresh cheeses.
