Description

The Prelit is a red wine by Damijan Podversic, winemaker of the Collio Goriziano, of border wines, those of companies between Italy and Slovenia. Like many other wineries in the area, Podversic does not use chemical or synthetic substances in the vineyard so as to help biodiversity in the vineyard.

The Prelit comes from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Fermentation is spontaneous and takes place in cone-shaped vats. The wine ages for 36 months in 20-30 hectolitre barrels, followed by at least 1 year in the bottle.

In the glass the wine appears of an intense ruby red color with garnet hues. The nose reveals hints of berries, spices, vegetal notes. The sip is dry and balanced in its parts, with smooth tannins and a persistent finish.

Prelit goes very well with red meats and game both stewed and grilled.
