Description
Rivarossa is a historic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that takes its name from one of the cadastral parcels of the Schiopetto company, a clayey soil in which these red grape varieties are able to express themselves at their best.
The grape harvest is manual. Fermentation takes place separately for both varieties, with a maceration period decided by the oenologist according to the different phenolic conditions of the grapes. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels for 14 months.
In the glass it has a bright ruby red color. On the nose it releases a bouquet of black cherry and small red fruits, joined by sensations of tobacco, licorice and black pepper. On the palate it is velvety and well balanced, given by the ripe tannins that contrast with a correct freshness, breaking on a lively and spicy finish.
Excellent to combine with second courses of white meat and game, it is ideal with aged cheeses.
