Description
The Valtellina Superiore Mazèr of Nino Negri was born in vineyards located in Valtellina, north of Lake Como in the province of Sondrio.
It is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes, harvested only by hand during the end of September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for 5 days. Subsequently the wine ages in barrique for 36 months before being bottled.
It is characterized by a deep garnet red color. The nose opens with dominant spicy notes of cloves, licorice and chocolate, enriched with delicate hints of plums. On the palate it is dry, pleasantly sapid and austere, with an elegant citrus background. It is a long-lived wine, with a firm backbone and excellent texture.
Perfect to accompany roasts, it is ideal in combination with game and aged cheeses.
