Description
The Valtellina Superiore di Dirupi comes from terraced vineyards in the municipality of Montagna in Valtellina, in the province of Sondrio.
It is entirely made from Nebbiolo grapes, harvested manually during the month of October. After a soft pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place in stainless steel, with maceration on the skins for 15-35 days. The wine ages for 18 months in French Allier oak barrels and for a small part in barrique. A further 6 months in the bottle follows before the product is put on the market.
Ruby red in color, Dirupi's Valtellina Superiore expresses an ethereal bouquet to the nose, which gives way to pleasant notes of red and cherry flowers. On the palate it is fresh and pleasant with good harmony.
Excellent in combination with soft cheeses, it is also suitable as an inviting aperitif.
