Description
Valpolicella Superiore Maternigo by Tedeschi is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes which finds its roots in the Veneto. Vigento grows on soil characterized by the presence of white and yellow marl of morainic origin, ideal for giving Valpolicella great freshness and balance.
The harvest takes place between mid and late October, with a careful selection of the grapes. The alcoholic fermentation and maceration continue for 20 days, followed by a 12-24 month refinement in Slavonian oak, which enriches the wine with complexity and nuances.
It has an intense ruby color, clear and transparent. On the nose, it expresses a rich bouquet of currants, black cherries and plums, enriched with mineral and spicy notes, which underline its aromatic depth. On the palate, it offers a great structure, resulting fresh and balanced, with a very fruity profile embellished with floral notes and a good persistence.
This wine is ideal in combination with red meats, game and aged dry grain cheeses, where its structure makes it able to enhance the intense and rich flavors of these dishes.
