Description
Zenato's Valpolicella Classico Superiore is produced in the Peschiera del Garda area of the province of Verona, is one of the great Venetian red wines made from the native red grapes of the Veneto region.
It is a traditional blend of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Corvinone. The grapes are harvested by hand, de-stemmed and left to macerate for 10 days in steel vats before being aged in oak barrels for about 12 months.
The colour is dark ruby red. The bouquet recalls hints of violets, then red fruits, cherries and plums, with spicy and balsamic notes. The palate is dry and warm, with well-behaved tannins and a good persistence of fruity sensations.
Excellent with roast and braised red meats, but also with aged cheeses.
