Description
This Is Not Another Lovely Malbec by Matías Riccitelli is a wine produced from vineyards located at 1,400 meters above sea level, in the Gualtallary area, in the Uco Valley, Mendoza in Argentina. The calcareous soils and high altitude climate conditions give the wine a unique character, with a mineral and fresh profile. The Malbec grape is grown following agro-ecological practices, without the use of herbicides or systemic products.
The grapes are hand-picked into small crates and, after a meticulous selection, are transferred by gravity into small open vats, where 50% of the bunches are left whole. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperatures between 24°C and 26°C. A delicate process is then carried out to promote slow extraction and the refinement continues for 8 months in small egg-shaped concrete containers, without the addition of sulphites, stabilization or filtration.
This wine therefore has a natural, pure and authentic character, with an aging potential of 10 years. On the nose it offers fresh aromas of black fruit, with hints of spice and a mineral note. On the palate it stands out for its freshness and vivacity, with soft tannins and a pleasant persistence.
It pairs well with meat dishes such as beef and lamb.
