Description

Cabernet Sauvignon is produced by the Chilean company Montes and belongs to the Montes Alpha line. The Montes winery was founded in 1987 by 4 friends who had already worked for years in the world of wine, Aurelio Montes, Douglas Murray, Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand. Over the years the winery has grown into one of the largest and best known wine companies in Chile.

The grapes, harvested by hand, are first de-stemmed and then macerated for 5 days in steel tanks. In alcoholic fermentation, selected yeasts are added, to perfectly control the course, while the malolactic fermentation takes place in steel or concrete vats, at the end of which the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

In the glass it is ruby red in color, with a nose that expresses itself on fruity notes of strawberry, blueberry and plum as well as hints of toasted, tobacco and leather. The taste is soft, well structured, with silky tannins and a long finish.

It goes well with tagliatelle with meat sauce, mushroom risotto and roasted red meats.
