Description
The Cornalin red wine is produced by the Valle d'Aosta winery Rosset, whose first hectares of vineyards were planted in 2001 in the Senin area of Saint-Christophe. In the following years, the company decided to push production even higher up, buying vineyards over 900 meters above sea level
The wine is made from 100% Cornalin grapes, an autochthonous red vine of the Val d'Aosta and coming from vineyards located in Saint Christophe approx. 750 meters of altitude. The grapes undergo a cold prefermentation maceration, to then be vinified in steel tanks with the help of selected yeasts. The wine ages in French oak vats for a few months.
The wine has a ruby red color, with a nose that recalls the aromas of cherries and plums, with notes of cloves. The sip is dry and slightly tannic, of medium structure and persistence.
It is an excellent combination with legume soups and beef meatballs.
