Description
Valdarno di Sopra Torrione di Petrolo was born in the sub-area of Pietraviva, from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested from the company's historic vineyards with an age of 70, such as Galatrona and Campo Lusso, and from vineyards more recently implanted as the result of scrupulous zoning, like Boggina.
At the end of the harvest, the must ferments with maceration on the skins for 14 days. Malolactic fermentation follows, partly in French oak barriques, partly in cask and partly in vitrified concrete tanks. The wine ages in French oak barrels of different passage for 15 months.
It is presented in the glass of ruby red colour. The nose reveals a rich and concentrated fruity trait, embellished with notes of rose petals and spices. The sip is warm and full-bodied, perfectly balanced, punctuated by persistent spicy notes.
It is perfect with grilled red meats, braised meats and game-based recipes.
