Description
The Higuera La Pinada Bobal is a red wine made from 100% Bobal grapes, grown on a single 3-hectare parcel called "La Pinada" in the Valencia region. The vines, planted in 1958, grow on alluvial and clay soils at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate. This wine is a pure expression of the Bobal variety, with a focus on freshness and balance.
Winemaking involves spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts in a single concrete tank, followed by malolactic fermentation in the same tank to enhance the fruity character. The wine is aged for 9 months in a 7,000 liter concrete tank, with 10% aged in 500 liter second passage French oak barrels.
The Higuera La Pinada Bobal features fresh, fruity aromas of blackberry, black cherry, bramble, flowers and a hint of earthy minerality. On the palate, it is juicy, concentrated and well-balanced, with crisp acidity and slightly dry tannins.
This Bobal pairs perfectly with grilled red meats and mature cheeses.
