The Tripel Trappist from the Steenbrugge brewery
The Trappist Tripel is a Belgian beer from Steenbrugge, the independent family-run brewery with two locations, one in Eemshaven, the other in Liesout. The brewery labels all represent the patron saint of brewers, S. Arnoldo. The brewery adds "gruut" to beers, its own secret spice blend whose recipe has been handed down since the Middle Ages.
How is the Tripel Trappist produced?
This top-fermented beer is brewed with the addition of the brewery's "gruut".
Sight, nose, eye and palate
Golden in color, Tripel beer has a soft and structured taste, characterized by sweet notes of bread crust, honey as well as spices, with a smoky vein. The finish is delicately bitter.
What do you combine the Trappist Tripel with?
The ideal combination of this beer is with a rich platter of cold cuts and cheeses or with white meats, even grilled.
