The Westmalle Dubbel
Dubbel is produced by Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Abbey in Westmalle, founded in 1794 by the Cistercian order. In the Abbey the monks produce 3 types of beer: Tripel, Dubbel and Extra.
How is Dubbel produced?
This beer is top-fermented, produced by the master brewer with the best raw materials: pure water, barley malt, hops, sugar and yeast grown in the abbey.
Sight, nose, eye and palate
Dubbel is a dark red beer, which on the nose reveals aromas of caramel, malt and ripe banana. Its taste is rich and complex, with a medium body and dense foam.
