Description
Guido Moro Toscana IGT is a 100% Syrah, coming from the most suitable areas of the Maremma and characterized by clayey soils with silt and fine skeleton.
After harvesting between the first and second week of September, the wine ferments for at least 10–14 days in small wooden barrels before carrying out the malolactic fermentation in 2nd or 3rd passage tonneaux. This is followed by an ageing of 6–8 months in French oak tonneaux and a subsequent ageing of at least 6 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in colour tending to garnet of great intensity, it has notes of currant and red fruits on the nose, with a sweet spiciness and woody notes of bark. Warm on the palate, it has well-smoothed tannins, fruity and spicy notes that accompany woody and vanilla flavours. Excellent balance and pleasant structure.
It goes well with savoury dishes, red meats, grilled and is ideal with aged cheeses.
