Description
The Tuscan wine Sancaba is a creation of Andrea Franchetti and born on the hills around San Casciano dei Bagni, in the province of Siena, particularly suited to the cultivation of Pinot Noir thanks to the fresh winds coming from the Apennines and to lower average temperatures, for the altitude of the vineyards (approx. 650 masl)
The fruit of Pinot Noir grapes, harvested around mid-September, ferments for 10 days partly in steel, partly in large barrels. The refinement takes place in large barrels and second passage barriques, to end in concrete tanks.
Intense ruby red in color, it releases aromas of small berries, mountain flowers, graphite and spicy notes to the nose. The taste is elegant and deep, with silky tannins.
Perfect to accompany stewed beef stew with potatoes, roast meats and game.
