Description

The Linarius by Cantine da Vinci is a Tuscan red wine that comes from the vineyards surrounding Villa da Vinci, in the province of Florence. The wine labels of the Villa da Vinci collection each represent a detail taken from the painting of Leonardo's Annunciation.

The wine is mainly composed of Syrah grapes, with small additions of Sangiovese and Colorino. The grapes are vinified in steel tanks at a controlled temperature (26-28 °C), where maceration lasts about 8–10 days. During the vinification, numerous pumpovers are carried out, for the optimal extraction of color and aromas. Ageing takes place in steel vats and oak barriques, where the wine rests for 4–6 months.

In the glass, the wine is ruby red with purple hues. The nose has fruity notes of red fruit and spices such as vanilla and coffee. The sip is enveloping and balanced, with a long finish.

Linarius goes well with first and second courses based on red meats and game, but also with aged cheeses.
