Description
Quercegrosse is a Tuscan wine from the young company Valle Picciola, located in the Pievasciata area, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI), where it manages 105 hectares of vineyards following the principles of sustainable agriculture. The Merlot vineyards are located at 350-400 meters above sea level
The wine is a pure Merlot, harvested at the end of September. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature for 20-25 days. The malolactic fermentation takes place instead in French oak barriques (of which 30% are new), where in wine it is also aged for 12-14 months, to finally refine in the bottle for 6-8 months.
In the glass the wine appears of an intense ruby red color. The nose opens on aromas of black fruits, blackberry, blueberry and light aromatic herbs. The taste is warm and full-bodied, with silky tannins.
Ideal in combination with roasted and grilled meats.
