Description
The Migliara from Tenimenti d'Alessandro winery is a pure Syrah from the eponymous cru located on the hills of Manzano in Cortona, at about 300 meters above sea level. The vineyards, planted with high density, grow on clay-silt soil enriched with marine fossils and river pebbles, giving the wine a distinctive and territorial character.
The winemaking involves a maceration on the skins for 30-45 days, with two-thirds of the grapes left whole cluster to enhance the overall elegance. Fermentation occurs in wood followed by aging for 24 months in used barrels (both large and barrique), completed by 9 months in the bottle, in order to integrate structures and aromas without emphasizing the woody note.
In the glass, it shows an intense and deep red color, with a complex bouquet: wild berries, blackberry and blueberry stand out, together with nuances of white truffle, licorice, black pepper and cocoa. The sip is rich and mineral, supported by fine yet well-present tannins, with a gustative persistence that evolves towards spicy notes and an elegant balsamic finish.
Perfect with savory dishes based on game or roasted red meats.
