Extremely fascinating, it captivates at first glance, giving notes of black plums, blackberries, coriander, incense, juniper berries, nutmeg and cumin. Really spicy but solid in the concentrated fruit it shows many muscles that cover the elegant dress in a balanced way. Full body, very fine-grained tannins that border on silkiness and a persuasive, balsamic and essential finish that closes in a satisfying way without showing heaviness. One of the best Solengos ever. Argiano reaches impressive quality levels. Better from 2025.

Description

Solengo di Argiano comes from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese plants aged between 15 and 22 years of age, organically grown on alluvial soils rich in sands and calcareous marls at an altitude of 280-310 meters above sea level.

The well-ripened grapes are harvested in October. The different vines are fermented separately with a maceration on the skins that lasts about 20 days. The wine is then matured for about 18 months in specially selected French oak barrels, new at 60%.

It is presented in the glass in a ruby red dress. The olfactory spectrum is rich and broad, with aromas of black fruits, woods, chocolate and coffee. The sip is powerful and fresh, with velvety tannins.

It is a perfect wine with first courses with meat sauce, game, grilled or roasted red meats.
