Description
The Toscana Rosso Sassoalloro Oro by Biondi Santi was born in southern Tuscany, in the Castello di Montepò estate in the province of Grosseto. Born in the part of the so-called "Aia di Clemente", on which we find vineyards over 15 years old at 300-450 meters above sea level The wine was created to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Sassoalloro (1991-2021), the iconic wine of the Castello di Montepò, and is the fruit of the study that lasted several years between Jacopo and Tancredi Biondi Santi in collaboration with the oenologist Donato Lanati.
It is produced with 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes, harvested at the end of September. After vinification, the wine is aged in 28.5 hl Slavonian barriques and barrels for 14 months.
It is a wine with a brilliant ruby red color. The nose opens with fresh and fruity hints of violet and cherry, enriched by pleasant woody notes of the wood in which it matures. The sip is balanced and reveals dense and well-behaved tannins. The finish is persistent.
Due to its characteristics, this wine is ideal in combination with red meats and game, in particular grilled or grilled, and with semi-aged cheeses.
