Description
Sasso al Poggio is a wine extremely tied to the territory of origin, Tuscany. It embodies its grandeur and tradition but also its desire to innovate, so alongside the characteristic Sangiovese we find the elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and the softness of Merlot.
This SuperTuscan is obtained only from the best grapes of the above varieties, harvested from a soil rich in minerals and suitable for viticulture. The vinification takes place separately, grape by vine, with long maceration in stainless steel in which the color, the aromatic complexity and the best tannins are extracted. Once the malolactic fermentation has ended, it is assembled and refined for 12 months in barrique and, subsequently, for 4 months in bottle.
Intense ruby red in color, it shows an intense and rich presence on the nose, in which the fruity sensations of cherry and the spicy liquorice and vanilla are evident, gathered in a mineral atmosphere. Much volume and elegance on the palate are perfected with the excellent integration of the tannic component, before reaching a complex and persistent finish.
Indicated to accompany aged cheeses and game.
