Description
Toscana Sangiovese Cepparello di Isole e Olena is born in the oldest and best exposed company vineyards.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes from selected clones, rigorously harvested by hand between the second and third week of October, at the peak of ripeness. After a maceration of about 21-28 days, with pumping over, punching down and délestage, the wine ages for 18 months in French oak barriques and a small part in American barrels before being bottled.
Cepparello is a ruby red wine with purple reflections. The nose opens with ample and deep hints of violet and rose, aromas of morello cherry, blackberry and raspberry, enriched by pleasant nuances of sweet spices, coffee and undergrowth. In the mouth it is exuberant but balanced, with a long and pleasant persistence. Overall it is a refined and persuasive wine, with great pleasure.
Perfect to accompany game and grilled red meats, it is recommended in combination with aged cheeses.
