Description
The experience gained over the years by Andrea Cortonesi and the desire to enhance the different terroirs of Montalcino led to the birth of Voliero . The Uccelliera company takes its name from the historic farm located on the slope of the Castelnuovo dell'Abate hill overlooking the ancient volcano of Monte Amiata. The company was founded in 1986 by Andrea Cortonesi, the son of local sharecroppers, guided by his vocation for viticulture and his peasant education based on hard work and respect for the land.
The vineyards, with predominantly clayey and sandy soils with a strong presence of loose skeleton, are located at an altitude of approximately 150, 250 and 350 meters above sea level in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area.
Rosso di Montalcino, exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, is vinified in thermo-controlled steel tanks with maceration for a few days. The evolution in Slavonian and French oak containers of various sizes for a few months is followed by a further refinement of at least 4 months in the bottle.
Ruby red in color, it reveals a floral bouquet, with aromas of cherry and spices. The sip has fine tannins and a fresh and harmonious finish.
