Description
The Tuscan red wine Uno by Tenuta di Carleone was born in vineyards located in Radda in Chianti, in the province of Siena. The Carleone estate was founded in 2012 by Karl Egger, who with the help of his friend Sean O'Callaghan produces wines following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture and non-interventionist enology.
The wine is made up of 100% Sangiovese grapes, which are vinified in concrete and steel tanks for 60 days. This is followed by aging in French oak, concrete and steel barrels for 18 months.
Intense ruby red in colour, it opens to the nose with hints of raspberry and pomegranate, enriched with mineral and delicately spiced notes. On the palate it is balanced and fine, with gritty tannins and a long finish.
Excellent with legume soups, stewed red meats and aged cheeses.
