Description
The Toscana Rosso Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni di Frescobaldi was born in the vineyards of the homonymous estate located in the municipality of Montespertoli, in Tuscany.
It is produced 50% from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, 30% from Merlot grapes, 10% from Cabernet Franc grapes and 10% from Sangiovese grapes, harvested by hand from mid-September to the beginning of October. The grapes ferment in steel at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 10 days and the maceration continues for 12 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in barrique for 12 months and ages in bottle for 2 months.
It has a purple red color. The nose has intense aromas of red berry fruit such as wild strawberry and black currant, followed by pleasant spicy and balsamic notes of anise and cinnamon, with a slight hint of cocoa. On the palate it is long and persistent, with a good body and a balanced acidity. The tannins are thick and well blended and fruity nuances are found in the aftertaste.
Perfect to accompany game dishes, such as hare and wild boar, it is ideal in combination with beef, roasts and aged cheeses.
