Description
The Redigaffi di Tua Rita was born in vineyards located in the Upper Maremma, in Suvereto, in the area of the Metalliferous Hills. The name derives from a small stream that flows near the property. The grapes come from vineyards that rest on predominantly clayey soils and with a conspicuous presence of skeleton. The company was founded in 1984, when Rita and Virgilio bought 2 hectares of vineyards, which over the years have become 30. The Redigaffi label is the work of the Livorno-based painter Raffaele De Rosa.
It is produced entirely from Merlot grapes, which are harvested by hand. The fermentation phase is carried out in steel at a controlled temperature, followed by aging for 18-20 months in first passage French wooden barriques, resting a few more months in the bottle before being put on the market.
The Redigaffi color is a bright and intense ruby red. The nose opens with a complex bouquet with aromas of ripe black fruits, currant, blueberry and blackberry integrated with exquisite spicy and licorice notes. The sip is extremely enjoyable, with great balance, with noble tannins and a long and satisfying finish.
Perfect with important dishes based on red meats, it does not even disdain stewed or roasted game preparations.
