Description

Pugnitello is a red wine obtained exclusively from the ancient Tuscan Pugnitello vine, rediscovered thanks to a long research process in the experimental vineyards of San Felice in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the province of Siena. The soils, characterized by a medium texture rich in skeleton with a prevalence of calcareous-marly clay, offer the ideal conditions for the cultivation of this native vine.

The vinification takes place in steel, with a maceration in contact with the skins for 20-25 days at a temperature of 30°C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 18-20 months in French oak barrels, followed by an aging in bottle for 8 months, which enriches its structure and aromatic complexity.

It has an intense ruby red color and purple hues. On the nose it offers a notable complexity, with aromas of wild berry jam, tobacco and cloves. On the palate it is velvety, with fruity returns and a pleasant flavor that enhances its softness and fleshiness.

This red wine pairs perfectly with first courses with meat sauce, roast guinea fowl, turkey and other white meats.
