Description
The Toscana Rosso Il Borro from the homonymous estate was born in vineyards located on the hills of the Valdarno area, in Tuscany, at the foot of the Pratomagno.
It is produced with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes, harvested and sorted manually, then pressed, destemmed and vinified separately. The wine macerates on the skins for 22 days in steel vats, at a controlled temperature of 22°C, while the alcoholic fermentation lasts about 10 days. After racking, the wine is placed in new Allier oak barriques and, at the first racking, following the malolactic fermentation, the 4 wines are blended. The wine then ages in barrique for 18 months, is then filtered and bottled and rests for a further 8 months in the cellar.
It is a wine with an intense ruby red color, with purple reflections. The nose opens with intense, full and concentrated aromas, in which notes of undergrowth and pleasant hints of spices stand out. On the palate it is dry, full-bodied, with soft, consistent and well-blended tannins. Overall it is a harmonious wine, with a long and persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany typical Tuscan dishes based on red meats, cold cuts and game, it is also excellent to accompany some Asian dishes and American hamburgers.
