Description
Rosso dei Barbi shares its origins and grapes with Brunello. It was born in the land of Montalcino from the cellars of Fattoria dei Barbi, the historic name of Tuscan viticulture and beyond. Several Sangiovese clones are grown and vinified in the estate's vineyards, giving life to this red wine, which is kind of calling card for this prestigious winery.
It is composed of pure Sangiovese, through the combination of its various clones from experimental vineyards. It is vinified exclusively in steel to enhance the expression of the grape.
At sight it is a ruby red wine. The nose is fruity and reminiscent of cherry and black cherry, with a vague earthy background that hints at its nerve. The fruity crispness and fullness are confirmed on the palate, where a well-balanced tannic perception concludes the persistence of the sip.
To be paired with cold cuts.
