Description
This Altachiara red wine is produced by the Marchesi Mazzei company, located in Castellina in Chianti, in the area of Castello di Fonterutoli. The vineyards, with an age between 18 and 25 years, are located at an altitude that varies between 220 and 450 meters above sea level. The blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, grown on calcareous-marly soils rich in skeleton, which contribute to the complexity of the wine.
The harvest, done manually, begins in mid-September. After fermentation at controlled temperatures between 26 and 28°C and maceration for 18 days, the wine ages for 18 months in small French oak barrels. It is then refined for a further 4 months in concrete tanks before being bottled.
The organoleptic profile of this wine is distinguished by intensity and fragrance. On the nose, notes of black fruit and hints of Mediterranean scrub emerge, while on the palate it reveals itself as powerful and enveloping, while maintaining an extraordinary elegance in the finish.
This red wine pairs perfectly with game dishes or mature cheeses, enhancing every nuance.
