Description
Barbanera's Toscana Rosso 5/V is born in the clay and medium-calcareous soils of Tuscany, expertly combining Cabernet, Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. The result is a wine that fully expresses the character of the territory, with an elegant and complex personality.
The winemaking follows specific techniques for each variety: Sangiovese is fermented with whole grapes at 22°C to preserve the freshness of the fruit, while Cabernet undergoes a light dehydration on the vine before controlled fermentation at 18°C and then at 28°C to enrich its structure. Merlot, on the other hand, undergoes a short cold maceration before fermentation. The refinement combines a part of the wine in oak barrels according to the Solera method and the rest in steel, guaranteeing complexity and a unique imprint.
It has an intense and deep red color with purple highlights. The bouquet is sumptuous and complex, with toasted and spicy aromas that intertwine with jammy berries, ripe plums and raspberries. On the palate it offers great structure and softness, with mature and integrated tannins that accompany a long and full finish, offering a balanced and enveloping tasting experience.
This red wine pairs beautifully with baked first courses, sliced beef, meat or game stew, as well as semi-mature cheeses.
