Description
Averardo is a Pinot Noir produced in Tuscany, obtained from hand-picked grapes from the youngest vineyards of the estate, located on south-facing slopes at 230-250 meters above sea level.
Fermentation takes place in open French oak vats for 18-25 days at a controlled temperature. The refinement lasts 12 months in third or fourth passage French oak barriques, followed by a further 6 months refinement in concrete tanks and in the bottle.
The color is intense ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is elegant, with hints of cherry, raspberry and spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is fruity and soft, with notes of jam, leather and coffee. It is a full-bodied wine, with a medium structure, medium-high tannins, good acidity and persistence.
It pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, well-seasoned first courses, cured meats and mature cheeses.
