Description
Ruffino's Toscana Rosso Modus is born in the vineyards located in the Poggio Casciano and Santedame estates.
It is produced with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The harvest begins with the Merlot at the end of August, continues with the Sangiovese and ends at the end of September with the Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation takes place separately for the three varieties in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C for 10 days. Subsequently, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months and for a further 6 months in the bottle before being put on the market.
It is characterized by an intense ruby red color, with violet reflections. The nose opens with an intense and intriguing bouquet of ripe cherries, plums and small black berries, enriched with pleasant spicy notes of mint and tobacco. On the palate it is structured and harmonious, characterized by tannins of great finesse, enhanced by a pleasant freshness. The wine has a persistent finish with an aftertaste of black berried fruits and cocoa.
Perfect to accompany red meats and game, it is ideal in combination with game and aged cheeses.
