Description
The Toscana Merlot Casalferro by Barone Ricasoli is the final product of an evolution that began in the 90s and was born in vineyards located on the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, in the Chianti Classico area.
It is produced exclusively with Merlot grapes, fermented at a controlled temperature of 24-27 ° C with maceration on the skins for 14-18 days. The wine is then placed in oak barriques and barrels for aging for a period of 18 months, then bottled.
It is an elegant and full wine. It has a vigorous ruby red color and the nose opens with spicy hints and interesting notes of red fruits and chocolate. On the palate it is broad, consistent and velvety; on the whole it is a soft and immediately pleasant wine.
Perfect to accompany red meats, it is ideal in combination with game and aged cheeses.
